With increasing demand, clinics in the UAE are witnessing a rise in egg freezing procedures as more women, particularly those in demanding professions or undergoing medical treatments, look for ways to secure their fertility. While the average cost of one cycle stands at Dh15,000, many consider the procedure a worthwhile investment to prioritize careers or medical recovery without compromising their chances of motherhood.

Egg freezing, a process that involves extracting, freezing, and storing eggs, is seen as a "backup plan" for many, especially for women over 35 whose egg quality declines with age. Dr. Nayana Gaba from Aster Clinic notes that women from highly competitive fields like sports, entertainment, or business are opting for the procedure to delay motherhood. Additionally, those undergoing treatments such as chemotherapy, which may affect fertility, also benefit from the option.

The introduction of egg freezing vans offering free testing kits has brought significant attention, reflecting the growing societal acceptance. Legal reforms in 2020, which allow the freezing of eggs and embryos for up to five years, have also contributed to its popularity. Despite challenges, including hormonal side effects and high costs, medical experts see egg freezing as a liberating option for women to balance personal and professional goals.
