The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow fog alerts for several areas in the UAE, cautioning residents about reduced visibility. Additionally, light rainfall is expected on Saturday, December 21, in select regions of the country.

Rainfall and Cloud Cover

According to the NCM, light rains are possible over islands, as well as northern and eastern areas, particularly from Saturday night into Sunday morning. However, most areas can expect fair to partly cloudy conditions, with occasional periods of increased cloud cover throughout the day.

Winds and Sea Conditions

The forecast includes light to moderate winds, which may freshen at times, especially over the sea. Wind speeds will generally range between 10-20 kmph, occasionally reaching 35 kmph, coming from northwesterly to southeasterly directions.

  • Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf: Slight to moderate during the day, with rougher waters expected by night in western regions.
  • Sea conditions in the Oman Sea: Slight to moderate throughout the day.

Morning Fog Alerts

The NCM issued fog warnings early Saturday morning, urging caution for motorists due to low visibility in affected areas. Residents should stay updated with official advisories to plan their travels safely.

As the UAE experiences changing weather conditions, the public is advised to remain vigilant, particularly during periods of fog and potential rainfall.
