The UAE is gearing up to launch a unified national platform to provide licences for healthcare professionals, allowing them to work across public and private healthcare facilities nationwide, a senior official at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced. "This is a national project aimed at consolidating efforts from health entities across the UAE into a single platform," said Alla Mansour Yahya, acting director of the Licensing and Accreditation Department at MoHAP. "Currently, each entity licenses health professionals based on its own requirements. The new system will unify these processes, reducing repetitive requirements and standardising procedures."
Simplifying the Process
The initiative aims to significantly reduce the time and effort required for medical professionals to obtain their permits. With the unified licensing system, healthcare workers will no longer need to go through separate processes for different emirates, facilitating seamless transitions across facilities.
Yahya highlighted that the platform is in its final stages, and while no exact launch date has been announced, implementation is expected soon.
“This will allow professionals to easily practice across public and private hospitals in the UAE, improving efficiency and accessibility in the healthcare sector,” she added.
Who Will Benefit?
The National Platform for Unifying Health Professions Licenses targets various healthcare stakeholders, including:
- Facility owners
- Doctors
- Nurses
- Pharmacists
- Allied medical specialists
- Technical staff
By standardising and minimising repetitive processes, the platform is expected to enhance the user experience for all stakeholders while expediting the licensing process.
This initiative underscores the UAE's commitment to improving healthcare services and ensuring that medical professionals can deliver top-quality care with greater flexibility and efficiency.
