Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, emphasized the nation’s growing role as a global technology hub during his tour of GITEX 2024 in Dubai. The event, which hosts over 6,500 exhibitors from 180 countries, showcases cutting-edge innovations in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital transformation.
Sheikh Mohammed underscored that the UAE is entering a new phase of economic growth, fueled by strategic investments in AI and other advanced technologies. This year's GITEX theme, "Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy," aligns with the UAE's vision of positioning itself as the most future-ready nation globally. He noted that the remarkable 40% increase in international participation this year reflects the UAE’s global leadership in tech and innovation.
The Dubai ruler toured several key pavilions, engaging with industry leaders from major companies like Microsoft, Oracle, and Huawei. He highlighted the UAE’s commitment to fostering innovation and offering growth opportunities for both established enterprises and startups. GITEX 2024, running until October 18, will also host the region’s largest Data Centre Symposium and lay the groundwork for AI Everything Global 2025, further reinforcing Dubai’s tech leadership on the world stage.
