The UAE secured 13 deals worth Dh3.97 billion during the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) on Monday, with nine of the deals valued at Dh3.8 billion from local companies and four international deals totaling Dh143.4 million.
Among the prominent local agreements, Calidus Land Systems signed a Dh1.8 billion deal to purchase Multitasking MATV 4x4 vehicles, while Thales Emarate Technologies secured a Dh110.5 million contract for spare parts, materials, and technical support services.
Internationally, the UAE signed a Dh71.8 million deal with the German company Rheinmetall for technical support, maintenance, and the provision of spare parts and tactical engagement systems. Additionally, Finland’s Patria Land Systems was awarded a Dh21 million deal for technical support, repairs, and spare parts for their machinery.
Saeed Al Mansouri, Defence Events and Shows Specialist at ADNEC, highlighted that most of the agreements were with local producers, reflecting their growing capacity to meet the UAE Ministry of Defence’s needs and strengthen the nation’s defence infrastructure. He also acknowledged the importance of deals with foreign companies, which address specific requirements like spare parts and new products for the UAE Armed Forces.
