The UAE is set to witness rapid weather changes in the coming days, with a noticeable reduction in rainfall intensity, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The weather system, which brought light to moderate rains on September 30, will gradually shift southward, reducing moisture levels and overall rainfall, especially in areas such as Dubai. Dr. Ahmed Habib, a senior climate expert at the NCM, explained that the country had been affected by a low-pressure system from the southeast, bringing significant moisture from the Arabian Sea. However, this system will dissipate, leaving behind lesser rain in the southern parts of the UAE.
From today, regions like Al Ain and central Al Dhafra will receive reduced rainfall, while Fujairah may experience light rain in its mountainous areas. Furthermore, the UAE will experience northwesterly winds starting Wednesday, bringing cooler breezes and rougher sea conditions. The transitional autumn period, marked by rapid weather changes, may still produce occasional rain and thunderstorms as the country moves towards winter. Dr. Habib added that without cloud cover, temperatures are unlikely to drop significantly. The weather patterns during this period remain unpredictable, with sudden shifts from dry to wet conditions.
The NCM continues to monitor the weather, urging residents to stay alert as the UAE transitions from summer to the cooler months, which will see further fluctuations in temperature and weather conditions.
