The United Arab Emirates is stepping up humanitarian efforts to support Lebanon with the launch of the "UAE with You, Lebanon" relief campaign, starting on October 8, 2024, and running until October 21. This campaign follows an urgent directive from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who authorized a $100 million relief aid package aimed at addressing Lebanon's growing humanitarian crisis. The initiative seeks to unite UAE citizens, businesses, and institutions, encouraging their participation in delivering essential aid to Lebanese citizens.
Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, expressed that the campaign embodies the UAE’s strong commitment to supporting Lebanon in the face of unprecedented challenges. Six aircraft, loaded with 205 tons of critical supplies, including medical, food, and shelter aid, have already been dispatched as part of this initiative. These supplies are being coordinated with international organizations such as the World Health Organization and UNICEF to ensure efficient distribution on the ground.
The humanitarian campaign reflects the UAE’s firm stance on providing continuous aid to Lebanon, demonstrating solidarity with its people. The UAE leadership remains confident that its citizens and private sector entities will rise to the occasion, further strengthening the UAE's reputation for global humanitarian leadership.
