The UAE has pledged six additional humanitarian aid flights to Lebanon under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This comes as part of the country’s ongoing efforts to support Lebanon amid escalating regional tensions. These flights will carry essential medical supplies, food, and shelter equipment, totaling over 205 tons. This is in addition to the UAE's earlier commitment of a $100 million relief package, which was aimed at mitigating the humanitarian and health challenges in Lebanon, as the country struggles with severe economic and social crises.
Furthering its support, the UAE has also allocated a $30 million relief package for displaced Lebanese refugees currently in Syria. The "UAE is with you, Lebanon" campaign is set to run from October 8 to October 21, engaging the UAE community, institutions, and government and private entities.
The UAE’s aid efforts are conducted in collaboration with key international partners, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The aim is to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people, who are enduring economic turmoil, compounded by the growing instability in the region due to escalating conflicts, including Israeli military operations.
The UAE’s continued assistance reflects its longstanding commitment to humanitarian causes and strengthens its diplomatic ties with Lebanon, further highlighting its role as a key player in the region’s humanitarian efforts.
