In the UAE, a rising trend among wealthy families is the hiring of specialized domestic help such as pet nannies, sober coaches, and house managers, with salaries reaching up to Dh45,000. This demand is being facilitated by Dubai-based consultancy firms like Mama Consultancy, founded by Lynsay Kilbane, which provides bespoke staffing solutions for high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) in the Middle East and globally.

Kilbane's firm primarily focuses on hiring nannies, maternity nurses, governesses, butlers, chefs, and house managers. However, unique roles such as full-time masseuses, pet nannies, and sober coaches have seen a spike in demand recently. The salary range for these roles varies based on job location and nature, with childcare positions offering between Dh20,000 and Dh30,000 per month, while house managers can earn between Dh30,000 and Dh45,000 monthly.

Challenges in Hiring for High-Net-Worth Families

Kilbane notes that discretion and privacy are paramount when hiring for affluent families. “Not all jobs are advertised, and I will carefully and personally select candidates for these roles,” she stated. She emphasized the importance of trust and maintaining a network of reliable candidates to meet the high standards of her clients.

Another significant challenge is the urgency with which these staffing solutions are often required. Kilbane shared that she has had to work through the night to place candidates within 24 hours, underlining the fast-paced and demanding nature of the industry.

Competitive Landscape and Advice for Job Seekers

The UAE presents a unique landscape for domestic workers, where the definitions and expectations of roles such as nannies can differ significantly from those in Europe. Kilbane advises prospective job seekers to ensure they possess the relevant qualifications and experience before applying for these high-paying roles. She also highlighted that the private household industry is highly competitive, requiring candidates to be discreet, skilled, and capable of maintaining a positive attitude, even when faced with rejection.

The growing trend of hiring such specialized roles among UAE's elite underscores the evolving needs of wealthy families seeking highly trained professionals capable of delivering top-tier services with utmost confidentiality and reliability.

This blog will explore the rising trend of the UAE's elite hiring high-paying domestic help to meet their specialized household needs. It will delve into the reasons behind the demand for skilled domestic workers, such as chefs, personal assistants, nannies, and house managers, and the competitive salaries being offered in luxury homes.
