The Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi drew massive crowds as visitors eagerly awaited its 53-minute fireworks display, one of the longest in the region, to ring in the New Year.

  • Fireworks & Drone Show: A 20-minute drone display featuring 6,000 drones illuminated the sky before the grand fireworks finale, spelling out "Happy New Year" at 11:40 pm.
  • Crowds Gather Early: Visitors from across the UAE, including tourists and residents, began arriving as early as 1 pm to secure spots.
  • Cultural Activities: Guests enjoyed traditional dances, live music, and exhibits showcasing Emirati heritage. Food stalls offered cuisines ranging from Gulf specialties to Thai dishes.
  • Special Features: Over 100,000 balloons were released into the sky, and the Emirates Fountain Stage showcased advanced laser and light technology with 80 lasers.

Visitors from Dubai, Fujairah, and beyond expressed excitement at experiencing the festival for the first time, while some regular attendees celebrated New Year’s Eve at the event for the first time.
