Sharjah Announces Extended Paid Public Parking Hours During Ramadan

Sharjah has announced extended paid public parking hours for the holy month of Ramadan, ensuring smoother traffic flow and better parking management across the city.

According to the Sharjah City Municipality, paid parking fees will now apply daily from 8:00 AM until midnight throughout Ramadan.

Revised Timings for Public Parks

In addition to parking adjustments, the municipality has extended operational hours for public parks:

  • Neighbourhood parks4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
  • Al Seyouh Family Park, Al Seyouh Ladies Park, Sharjah National Park, and Al Rolla Park4:00 PM – 1:00 AM

These extended hours aim to accommodate the increased number of visitors during the holy month.

Enhanced Food Safety and Business Regulations

Ahead of Ramadan, the municipality has launched comprehensive food safety measures, including:

  • Deploying 380 inspectors to monitor food outlets and prevent violations.
  • Issuing permits for food establishments wishing to prepare and display food during Ramadan.
  • Accepting applications for businesses operating past midnight, ensuring proper regulation of late-night commercial activities.

On February 17, the municipality invited restaurants to apply for Ramadan permits, detailing the official channels for applications.

Ramadan Start Date and Duration

Based on the latest astronomical calculations, Ramadan is expected to begin on Saturday, March 1, and could extend for 30 days.

With extended parking hours, enhanced food safety measures, and late-night business permits, Sharjah aims to create a smooth and well-regulated environment for residents and visitors during the holy month.
