Dubai: Scientific Advisor Wins $1 Million in Dubai Duty Free Draw

Dubai – A German scientific advisor has become the latest millionaire in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw, while three other winners have won luxury vehicles in the Finest Surprise draw.

German National Wins Big

Thomas Schober, a 37-year-old resident of Frankfurt, Germany, won $1 million in the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw held on Wednesday at Dubai International Airport.

Schober, who works as a scientific advisor to the German government, purchased ticket number 3723 online on January 25. He has been a regular participant in Dubai Duty Free’s promotions for the past seven years.

“Thank you, Dubai Duty Free, for this great opportunity!” Schober said after learning about his win.

He is the 12th German national to win the $1 million prize since the Millennium Millionaire promotion launched in 1999.

Luxury Car and Motorbike Winners

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw, Dubai Duty Free also conducted the Finest Surprise draw, where winners took home a luxury car and two high-end motorbikes.

  • Martha Tsere, a 45-year-old Tanzanian based in Dar es Salaam, won a Mercedes-Benz S500 (Obsidian Black Metallic) with ticket number 0576 in Finest Surprise Series 1910.

    • Tsere, a public health specialist working for an NGO, purchased two tickets for the Finest Surprise promotion for the first time on February 3.
    • “Thank you so much, Dubai Duty Free, for providing people a chance to win in life through your promotion,” she said.
    • She is the eighth Tanzanian winner in the Finest Surprise promotion.
  • Alok Sharma, a 41-year-old Indian resident of Sharjah, won a BMW F 900 GS (Black Storm Metallic) motorbike with ticket number 0053 in Finest Surprise Series 613.

    • A regular participant for three years, Sharma works as a merchandiser for a retail company in Dubai.
    • “Finally, I’ve got the opportunity to try my luck and win in this promotion,” he said.
  • Asok Vasudevan Pillai, a 52-year-old Indian living in Dubai, won a BMW S 1000 XR M Package (Light White) motorbike with ticket number 0432 in Finest Surprise Series 614.

    • Pillai has been participating in the promotion for seven years and works in sales for a building materials company in Al Qusais.
    • He is a father of one and expressed his excitement over the win.

A Long-standing Promotion

Dubai Duty Free’s Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise promotions have been running for decades, attracting thousands of participants globally. The draws continue to change lives, offering luxury prizes and life-changing cash rewards.
