Dubai: The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that Salik’s new variable toll rates will come into effect on January 31, 2025. The new system will introduce varying toll fees based on peak and off-peak hours, with an aim to ease congestion and regulate traffic flow across the city.

Peak Hour Toll Rates

  • Weekdays:
    • Dh6 during morning peak hours (6:00 AM to 10:00 AM) and evening peak hours (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM).
  • Off-Peak Hours:
    • Dh4 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
  • Sundays (excluding public holidays and special events):
    • Dh4 throughout the day and free from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

These rates will remain in effect throughout the year, with the exception of the holy month of Ramadan, during which different pricing timings will be implemented.

Salik Rates During Ramadan

  • Weekdays:
    • Dh6 during peak hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
    • Dh4 during off-peak hours (7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM the following day).
    • Free between 2:00 AM and 7:00 AM, Monday to Saturday.
  • Sundays:
    • Dh4 from 7:00 AM to 2:00 AM, free from 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM.

The toll fees will also continue to remain unchanged at specific toll gates. For instance, the Salik charges remain the same for passes through Al Safa North, Al Safa South, Al Mamzar North, and Al Mamzar South toll gates, as long as vehicles pass through the gates within one hour.

Parking Fees Changes Alongside the new toll system, Dubai will also implement a Variable Parking Tariff Policy by the end of March 2025. Premium parking spaces will be charged Dh6 per hour during peak hours (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) and Dh4 during other paid parking spaces. The fees will remain unchanged during off-peak hours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Parking will be free at night, from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and all day on Sundays.

Additionally, a Congestion Pricing Policy will be introduced for event areas starting February 2025. The policy will charge Dh25 per hour for public paid parking spaces around event zones, particularly near the Dubai World Trade Centre during major events.

These measures are part of the RTA's ongoing efforts to improve traffic management and urban mobility in Dubai.
