Steps to Register a Video Game Idea

  1. Access the Ministry's Services
    Visit moec.gov.ae or use the UAE Ministry of Economy's smart app.

  2. Select the Right Service
    Navigate to eServices and choose the Intellectual Works Rights Registration Service.

  3. Sign In
    Use your UAE Pass or the credentials from your account on the ministry's website.

  4. Fill Out the Application
    Enter the required data and attach the necessary documents (details below).

  5. Pay the Fees

    • Individuals: Dh50 per registration
    • Companies or Institutions: Dh200 per registration
  6. Application Review
    The ministry will audit and review your application.

  7. Receive the Certificate
    If your application meets all conditions, you will be issued a registration certificate.

    • Copy of the author's Emirates ID (front and back).
    • Authorisation letter, if applying on behalf of multiple authors.

      • Companies/Institutions: Dh350

    • Proof of capacity to file the complaint (e.g., Emirates ID, authorisation).
    • Evidence of copyright ownership (e.g., registration certificate).
    • Documentation of infringement details.

    • Complaints are typically reviewed within 5 working days.
