Sharjah restaurants can now apply for permits to prepare and display food throughout Ramadan 2025. The Sharjah City Municipality announced on Monday that it has started issuing permits for food preparation and sales during the holy month. Two types of permits are available, each with varying fees, and establishments must meet specific conditions to operate during fasting hours.

Food Preparation and Sales Permit
- Available to all food preparation and sales sites, including those in shopping malls.
- Food must be prepared and cooked inside the kitchen only, with no customers allowed in the dining area.
- The permit fee is Dh3,000.

Food Display Permit for Sale Outside Shops Before Iftar
- This permit is for restaurants, cafeterias, sweet shops, and bakeries wishing to display food outside.
- The food must be placed on the front sidewalk (not sandy) in non-corrosive metal containers or glass boxes.
- Food must be covered with aluminum foil or transparent plastic and stored at the appropriate temperature (not chilled or frozen).
- The permit fee is Dh500.
These permits must be applied for through several service channels, including:
- Municipal Drawing Center (Al Nasiriyah)
- Tasareeh Center
- Al Raqam Wahed Center
- Municipality 24 Center
- Al Saqr Center, and more.
Ramadan 2025 is expected to begin on March 1, and these regulations aim to ensure proper food safety and display standards during the month-long celebration.
