The box office numbers for Pushpa 2: The Rule are rewriting history as the Allu Arjun starrer approaches the Rs 1,500 crore mark globally. Released on December 5, the film has become the third highest-grossing Indian movie of all time, surpassing several records along the way.

Box Office Performance

After a phenomenal first week collection of Rs 725.8 crore, the film maintained its momentum over the second weekend. Despite a slight drop on Monday (December 16), Pushpa 2 earned approximately Rs 30 crore nett, bringing its 12-day domestic total to Rs 929.85 crore.

The Hindi version is leading the charts, collecting Rs 21 crore on Day 12 and contributing a total of Rs 573.1 crore nett. Meanwhile, the Telugu version brought in Rs 287.07 crore nett over 12 days.

Audience Demand and Ticket Sales

The success of Pushpa 2 has been unprecedented on both domestic and international platforms. On BookMyShow, the film sold over 15 million tickets, ranking second only to KGF: Chapter 2. Single-screen cinemas contributed significantly to its success, with over 36% of ticket sales coming from mass centers.

Ashish Saksena, COO-Cinemas at BookMyShow, noted:

“Pushpa 2 has bridged regions and age groups with its gripping storyline and action-packed sequences. It is a true pan-India phenomenon, with cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi leading ticket sales.”

The Bigger Picture

Directed by SukumarPushpa 2: The Rule explores the life of Pushparaj, a man who rises to power in the illegal red sandalwood trade. Starring Allu ArjunRashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, the film blends high-octane drama and action to appeal to a wide audience.

With the holiday season ahead, Pushpa 2 is expected to retain its stronghold in theatres, pushing its global total well beyond Rs 1,500 crore. The film’s success reflects the growing impact of pan-India cinema, setting a benchmark for future releases.
