Dubai: India clinched a thrilling four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, securing a record third title.
Batting first after winning the toss, New Zealand posted 251/7 with Daryl Mitchell (63) and Michael Bracewell (53) leading the charge. Kuldeep Yadav (2/40) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/45) were the standout bowlers, while Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami picked up a wicket each.
India’s chase was powered by Rohit Sharma’s explosive 76, followed by Shreyas Iyer (48) and KL Rahul (34 not out), ensuring victory in 49 overs. This triumph marks India’s first Champions Trophy win since 2013, reinforcing their dominance in world cricket.
