KUWAIT CITY: The 45th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit concluded with the issuance of the Kuwait Declaration, underscoring the urgent need to end the war on Gaza and the occupation of Palestinian territories. The leaders reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and sovereignty over all lands occupied since June 1967.

Key Points of the Kuwait Declaration

1. Support for Palestinian Sovereignty
The GCC leaders called for an immediate cessation of violence in Gaza, Lebanon, and the West Bank, condemning Israel's ongoing military actions. The declaration stressed the necessity of international intervention to protect civilians and revive peace negotiations.

2. Regional and Global Contributions
The summit highlighted the growing influence of GCC countries in addressing political and economic challenges on regional and global scales. The leaders praised the bloc’s role in fostering international dialogue, resolving conflicts, and promoting stability.

3. Advancing Economic and Strategic Goals
The declaration outlined strategic priorities for the GCC, including:

  • Strengthening the Gulf's position as a global hub for business and commerce.
  • Promoting sustainable economic diversification and advancing digital transformation.
  • Stabilizing energy markets and addressing climate change through cooperative efforts.

Condemnation of Israeli Actions

The GCC leaders strongly condemned Israel’s military operations in Gaza and violations at Jerusalem’s holy sites. They urged the international community to take decisive action to protect civilians and hold violators accountable, calling for peace negotiations based on international law and United Nations resolutions.

Commitment to Global Cooperation

The declaration reiterated the GCC’s dedication to fostering stronger ties between nations, addressing shared global challenges, and ensuring the security and prosperity of the Gulf region.

As the GCC leaders return to their respective nations, the Kuwait Declaration stands as a strong testament to the bloc's unified stance on the Palestinian issue and its commitment to advancing regional stability and global cooperation.
