Residents of GCC countries can perform Umrah year-round, according to Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Haj and Umrah. The ministry has outlined three options for streamlined access to the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah:
- Umrah Visa
- Transit Visa
- Tourist Visa
Booking and Visa Process
GCC residents can book Umrah packages through the Nusuk platform, which requires personal information such as health status and additional needs like wheelchair access. Alternatively, visas can be applied for via:
- Tashir Centres
- Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs at https://visa.mofa.gov.sa
For travelers transiting through Saudi Arabia via Saudi Airlines or Flynas, a transit visa is available. A tourist visa can also be secured through the official visa platform at https://ksavisa.sa.
Umrah Permit via Nusuk App
Once the visa is obtained, pilgrims must issue an Umrah permit through the Nusuk app before arriving at Al-Haram. The app allows users to:
- Schedule a time slot for performing Umrah (only one slot per day).
- View estimated crowd levels to select the best time for their pilgrimage.
This process is designed to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for pilgrims. By planning and scheduling, GCC residents can enjoy year-round access to perform Umrah and visit the holy mosques with ease.
