Emirates has confirmed that flights between Dubai and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are not being impacted by the ongoing wildfires in Southern California. A spokesperson for the airline assured that operations at LAX remain unaffected, and the airport itself continues to function normally.
While wildfires have caused significant damage in parts of Los Angeles, including the loss of at least 10 lives and the destruction of thousands of homes, LAX, located over 16 kilometers from the hardest-hit areas, remains open. Emirates also stated that it continues to monitor the situation closely.
Domestic airports in Los Angeles, including Hollywood Burbank Airport, are also operational, and passengers are advised to check directly with airlines for any flight status updates.
The wildfires, which began on January 7, have spread rapidly, further fuelled by strong winds, and have prompted mass evacuations across affected neighborhoods.
