Dubai is witnessing a significant rise in yacht rental prices as New Year’s Eve approaches, with luxury yachts costing up to Dh360,000 for an eight-hour cruise. These yachts offer an exclusive view of the city’s spectacular fireworks and drone displays, making them a popular choice for celebrations despite the high prices.

Premium yachts, such as the ‘Lamborghini,’ usually charge Dh15,000 per hour, but during New Year’s Eve, prices are expected to triple, reaching Dh360,000 for the night. Other options start at Dh65,000 for a journey that spans the transition from 2024 to 2025.

According to Shani Tareq, operations manager at Elite Rentals, demand remains high, with 10 bookings already secured and expectations for more as the date draws closer. Captain Aakash Ghimire of Liberty Yachts also highlighted that prices for a six-hour ride, normally Dh12,000-15,000, increase to Dh65,000-75,000 on New Year’s Eve.

Aakash pointed out that celebrating on a yacht can be more appealing than dining at a restaurant near the Burj Khalifa, where prices range from Dh4,000-5,000 per person. For groups, renting a yacht provides a unique and memorable way to experience the festivities.

Approximately 800 yachts are expected to set sail from Dubai Harbour on December 31, creating a vibrant maritime scene. Brazilian expat Jamila M. shared her plans to celebrate with 70 friends and family members, opting for an affordable arrangement where guests contribute food.

To ensure safety, Dubai Police will deploy 33 rescue boats, while captains undergo extensive training to manage the busy waterways. Celebrating New Year’s Eve from the sea offers a unique experience, combining stunning views with the grandeur of Dubai’s iconic celebrations.
