Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hala Al Maydani, a beloved resident who lived in the emirate for 45 years. In a heartfelt tribute, Sheikh Mohammed praised her positivity, love for life, and kindness, which made her a cherished figure in the community. "Hala Al Maydani, from beloved Syria, became a familiar face in Dubai, always sitting in her usual spot near the old markets," Sheikh Mohammed, who is also the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
A Life of Warmth and Compassion
Remembered fondly by those who knew her, Al Maydani was admired for her gentle nature and selfless acts.
"People loved her because of her great positivity, her love for life, her love for people, her feeding of birds and cats, and her tolerance towards all creatures," Sheikh Mohammed shared.
"She loved everyone, and so everyone loved her."
Accompanying his tribute, Sheikh Mohammed also posted a photo of Al Maydani, further emphasizing the deep respect and affection she commanded in Dubai.
