Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has honored Emirati artist Latifa Al Saeed for her remarkable contribution to the city’s artistic landscape through her latest sculpture at the Nad Al Sheba roundabout. The striking artwork, titled "Al-Sarmadi", features eight intricately designed horses and 15 steel waves, symbolizing Dubai’s spirit of resilience and progress.
A Monumental Artistic Achievement
The sculpture is set within a 23.5-meter-wide water body, adding a dynamic visual element to the roundabout. Crafted from 62 tonnes of iron and over 600,000 metal pieces, the installation stands as a testament to meticulous craftsmanship and engineering. The 15 steel wave formations rise to an impressive height of 9.2 meters, enhancing the grandeur of the site.
The ambitious project took four months to manufacture and install, with Al Saeed’s design capturing the essence of Dubai’s limitless ambition and deep-rooted heritage.
