As the countdown to 2025 begins, UAE residents are gearing up to welcome the new year in style, with many opting to book premium spots in Dubai’s luxury hotels for a perfect view of the city's famed fireworks. These prime locations come with a hefty price tag, with three-night stays at upscale hotels like JW Marriott Marquis and Movenpick in Downtown Dubai costing up to Dh11,000.

Luxurious Celebrations at Premium Venues

Residents from various parts of the UAE, including families and expatriates, are reserving accommodations at prestigious locations such as Downtown Dubai and Palm Jumeirah. These spots offer an unrivaled view of the spectacular displays from Atlantis and Burj Khalifa, making them the most sought-after venues for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

An executive from a group of premium hotels and serviced apartments stated that bookings for the period between December 29 and January 1 require a minimum three-night stay. These reservations, which can go up to Dh11,304 with breakfast included, illustrate the high demand for strategic locations near the fireworks festivities.

A Tradition of Memorable Celebrations

For many like Aiham Joratli, a resident of Al Ain, spending New Year's Eve in Dubai has become a beloved tradition. "This tradition has become a part of our lives over the past three years," Joratli shared, noting that the festive atmosphere and the lively parties are what draw him and his wife to the city year after year. This year, they plan to enjoy the festivities from a luxury hotel, ensuring a memorable start to the new year with a clear view of the Burj Khalifa fireworks.

Madina Mergenova, a Kazakh expatriate, also expressed her excitement for the celebrations. Having previously enjoyed the gala dinner at Atlantis, she opted for a full experience this year, booking a stay at Radisson Beach Resort on Palm Jumeirah. "This time, we’ve decided to make it a full experience and stay at the hotel. We’ll also enjoy the Atlantis fireworks," said Mergenova.

Strategic Choices to Avoid Crowds

Indian expat Bhavya Rao and her family chose to book a serviced apartment in Business Bay to escape the massive crowds and enjoy a more relaxed celebration. "Living in Springs makes it nearly impossible to get near the fireworks on New Year’s Eve," Rao explained. Opting for a serviced apartment allows her family to enjoy the festivities without the hassle of navigating through congested areas.

A Significant Economic Impact

The demand for premium views of Dubai’s New Year fireworks significantly affects local hospitality and rental markets. Holiday homes and hotels in key locations see their rates double, and sometimes even triple, during the festive season as they offer spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain.

Vinayak Mahtani, CEO of bnbme holiday homes, highlighted the trend: "Our average daily rate over New Year can be anywhere from two to 2.5 times the summer rate. Our guests consistently show a preference for luxury accommodations with breathtaking views."

As Dubai continues to cement its position as a luxury travel destination, the city's vibrant festive atmosphere and world-class fireworks displays keep drawing both locals and tourists, looking to end the year with a spectacular celebration.
