Dubai has launched a new multiple-entry visa scheme for yacht crew, allowing them greater flexibility in entering and exiting the emirate. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) made the announcement on Saturday, February 22, during the ongoing Dubai International Boat Show 2025.

Six-Month Multiple-Entry Visa for Yacht Crew

The new visa, valid for six months, is expected to boost Dubai’s status as a global yachting hub, making it easier for crew members to travel while serving luxury yachts in the region. The initiative comes as part of Dubai’s ongoing efforts to enhance its maritime and tourism sectors.

The Dubai International Boat Show, which began on February 19 at Dubai Harbour, will run until February 23. Now in its 31st edition, the event has evolved from a small gathering into one of the Middle East’s premier maritime exhibitions, attracting industry leaders and luxury yacht enthusiasts from around the world.

Exclusive Services for the Yachting Industry

At the event, the GDRFA is showcasing a range of specialised services for the yachting community, including:

  • Mobile Marina – A dedicated service catering to maritime professionals.
  • Work Bundle – A streamlined visa and employment solution.
  • Platform 04 – A one-stop hub for residency and visa applications.
  • Dubai Residency Community Network – A network aimed at supporting yacht crew and maritime professionals in Dubai.

Golden Visa for Superyacht Owners in Abu Dhabi

In a separate initiative, Abu Dhabi launched a Golden Visa programme in December 2024 for superyacht owners. This initiative is designed to attract high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), offering exclusive benefits such as luxury lifestyle experiences, business opportunities, and long-term residency for families.

The UAE Golden Visa is unique in allowing holders to stay outside the country for more than six months and offers a renewable 10-year residency period.

With the introduction of the multiple-entry yacht crew visa, Dubai continues to reinforce its reputation as a leading destination for maritime tourism and luxury yachting.
