The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has announced that the Mashreq Metro Station, located on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro, will now be renamed to "InsuranceMarket Metro Station." This change, which will be in effect for the next ten years, is part of RTA's strategic initiative to partner with private companies for economic growth and development in Dubai. The station is strategically positioned on Sheikh Zayed Road, between Mall of The Emirates and Dubai Internet City Metro Stations.
To accommodate the name change, RTA is updating all station signage, smart systems, and electronic information systems, including audio announcements on metro carriages, over a transition period from September to November 2024. The agency has advised commuters to take note of the changes and seek assistance from RTA staff if needed.
Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of the Rail Agency at RTA, highlighted the significance of such partnerships, noting that they encourage economic growth and provide unique branding opportunities. This renaming follows a trend where several metro stations have been named after prominent corporate entities, such as the recent renaming of Al Safa Metro Station to Onpassive Metro Station.
Avinash Babur, Founder and CEO of InsuranceMarket.ae, expressed gratitude for this opportunity, stating it is a significant milestone for the company and an excellent opportunity to reach a wider audience.
This partnership reflects Dubai's vision of enhancing its global competitiveness and creating more opportunities for private sector growth and engagement.
