Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced an increase in the minimum top-up amount for Nol cards at ticket vending machines in Metro stations. Starting March 1, the minimum amount will be raised from Dh5 to Dh20.

Commuters have five different ways to recharge their Nol cards, which are essential for navigating Dubai’s public transport system with ease. The minimum top-up amount varies depending on the recharge method. At Metro station ticket offices, for instance, the minimum recharge amount is set at Dh50.

Nol cards offer a convenient, cashless payment method not only for public transport but also for various other services in Dubai. Last December, the RTA expanded their usage to include payments for accredited e-scooter rentals, aligning with the city’s push toward a cashless economy.

Additionally, Nol cards can be used beyond transportation services. They are accepted for payments at select supermarkets and restaurants, enhancing their functionality as an all-in-one payment solution for residents and visitors alike.
