In celebration of the UAE's National Day, Dubai authorities have gifted 450 free car seats to families with newborn babies. This initiative aims to promote child safety on the roads and raise awareness about the importance of proper child restraints in vehicles.

The distribution took place at several hospitals across Dubai, where parents of newborns were pleasantly surprised with the timely gift. The car seats meet international safety standards and are suitable for infants, ensuring that the youngest passengers are protected from the moment they leave the hospital.

Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Directorate of Traffic at Dubai Police, highlighted the significance of the campaign. "Ensuring the safety of our children is a top priority. By providing these car seats, we are encouraging parents to adopt safe practices and comply with traffic regulations," he said.

The initiative is part of a broader road safety campaign launched by Dubai Police in collaboration with local healthcare providers and sponsors. Educational materials were also distributed to new parents, offering guidance on the correct installation and use of car seats.

Parents expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. Fatima Al Mansouri, a new mother, shared her appreciation: "This car seat gives me peace of mind knowing my baby will be safe while traveling. It's a wonderful gift on this special occasion."

Road safety experts have long advocated for the use of child car seats, noting that they significantly reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accident. Despite regulations, some parents in the UAE are still unaware of the importance of proper child restraints.

By aligning the distribution with National Day celebrations, authorities hope to reinforce a culture of safety and responsibility. The campaign also reflects the UAE's commitment to the well-being of its citizens and residents.

Residents are encouraged to follow traffic laws and ensure all passengers are appropriately secured. Dubai Police have reiterated that they will continue efforts to enhance road safety through education and enforcement.
