Three-time world champion slackliner Jaan Roose performed an extraordinary stunt in Dubai on Saturday, walking and even hanging upside down along a 100-meter rope suspended 224 meters (734ft) in the air between the iconic Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Roose’s daring feat mesmerized spectators, who watched in total awe as he crossed the highline, defying gravity with every step.
The walk was part of the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world's largest event dedicated to the content creator economy. Roose, addressing the crowd from the rope, joked, "Marhaba (welcome), '1 Billion Followers Summit.' It is one of the ways to get to the event; let's go."
Organized by the UAE Government Media Office, the summit is being hosted in the UAE for the third time from January 11 to January 13. It spans prominent venues in Dubai, including the Emirates Towers, Dubai International Financial Centre, and the Museum of the Future, under the theme, 'Content for Good.'
Roose's highline walk is one of his most visually stunning achievements to date, with the futuristic skyscrapers of Dubai serving as a striking backdrop. This daring stunt not only showcased Roose’s incredible skill but also elevated the excitement of the summit.
With over 15,000 content creators from around the world in attendance, participants will enjoy an action-packed agenda of thrilling displays, discussions, and immersive experiences at the summit. The event highlights innovations in content creation and serves as a hub for discovering new opportunities in the content economy.
