Ajman, UAE – Ajman Municipality has launched a strict enforcement campaign targeting veterinary establishments to ensure compliance with federal regulations on veterinary products and services. The crackdown, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE), aims to enhance public health and environmental safety.
Safe Disposal of Expired Veterinary Products
As part of the initiative, veterinary clinics and pharmacies in Ajman are required to dispose of expired veterinary products through accredited companies within three months of expiration. "We are conducting periodic inspection campaigns to verify that all veterinary facilities—clinics and pharmacies—meet federal standards," said Al Hosani.
He also commended compliant establishments while urging others to maintain accurate documentation, including:
- Valid veterinary practice licences for on-call veterinarians
- Facility licences issued by the Ministry
- Public health pest control contracts
- Safe disposal agreements for veterinary materials
- Sales and purchase invoices for veterinary products
These records will be checked during inspections to confirm compliance.

Ajman Municipality has outlined strict guidelines for veterinary businesses, including:
- Restricted use of veterinary pesticides to prevent misuse
- Mandatory procurement of veterinary medicines from approved suppliers, with proper documentation
- Trading only with Ministry-registered and licensed veterinary businesses
- Proper disposal of expired veterinary products through accredited waste management companies
Severe Penalties for Non-Compliance
Veterinary establishments found violating these regulations face severe penalties, including:
- Fines ranging from Dh10,000 to Dh500,000
- Confiscation of non-compliant veterinary products
- Temporary suspension or permanent closure of facilities in cases of repeated violations
Additionally, individuals or businesses caught selling, manufacturing, or distributing fraudulent, expired, or unlicensed veterinary products could face imprisonment and financial penalties.
Ensuring Veterinary Safety and Public Health
Dr. Al Hosani reiterated that these measures are crucial for protecting public health, maintaining veterinary safety standards, and ensuring responsible management of veterinary products across Ajman.
"The enforcement of these regulations is essential to safeguarding the health of both animals and humans, ensuring all veterinary products meet the highest standards," he emphasized.
